New survey data released by Nielsen on Thursday reveals that most teenagers use YouTube to listen to and watch music. Tossing aside archaic devices like radios and CD players, American youth have joined the 21 st century in their music listening. According to the survey, some 64 percent of American teens listen to music on YouTube. This contrasts quite significantly with the 56 percent who still listen to the radio and the 50 percent who not only know what CDs are, but actually listen to them. Meanwhile, the survey also reveals that 53 percent of respondents purchase and listen to music on iTunes.
